Planning Your Care

Scheduling shorter visits or appointments first thing in the morning—along with sedation—can help you feel more relaxed about your upcoming procedure.

What Sedation Options are Available?

Dr. Do offers minimal inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide) as an optional add-on to any planned appointment, whether it’s a dental cleaning, filling, or smile makeover. Nitrous oxide (sometimes called “laughing gas”) is safe, fast acting, and effective for all ages. Although you’ll still be awake during the procedure, you’ll feel extremely relaxed and will be less concerned about the procedure that’s being completed. Dr. Do will also numb any teeth involved during restorative procedures so that you won’t have to feel a thing.

Dental Sedation F.A.Q.

What is Sedation used for in Dentistry?

Dental sedation helps patients overcome their fear and anxiety of dental procedures, regardless of their complexity. It’s also ideal for longer appointments or individuals who have sensitive gag reflexes.

Am I a good candidate for Sedation Dentistry?

Almost everyone is a candidate for nitrous oxide/laughing gas. However, it’s important to let us know if you have any allergies (i.e. latex, eggs) before administering inhalation sedation.

What does Sedation Dentistry feel like?

Most people describe laughing gas as making them feel like they’ve had two or three glasses of wine. They’re alert but less concerned with the procedure.

Is Sedation Dentistry safe?

Absolutely. Inhalation sedation is safe for all ages, but we will still complete a medical screening to rule out any possible risk factors. It’s also 100% reversible within a matter of minutes, so you won’t even need another person to escort you to the appointment.
